G'Day!!

Well, my name is Samantha Lloyd and I am the brains and artist behind "Dream Merchant Designs". I was born and bred in the south-west region near Esperance, WA (Australia) and grew up as a bonifide Australian country girl on a farm 130km from town itself. I was always a horse nut from day dot, and was lucky enough that both my parents rode, and that my father was still competing in Showjumping events across the State until I was older and he retired due to time on the farm taking priority - that in itself was a huge shame as he was an amazing rider, and not just in my eyes.

I of course, took over with the Showjumping and the small Warmblood & Sporthorse Stud that they had started called "Cataby Warmbloods". In 2007 during a dusty, windy, drought-ridden day, my family decided to sell up the farm and move closer to Perth, and that we did - during July 2007 we moved into a smaller farm near York, WA and just a stone's throw away from the main city (far enough way we're still county, thank goodness!) and I've continued on my path with the Showjumpers after a 2 year hiatus due to injury and illness.

In between the real horses and work, I also dabble in webdesign, graphic design and of course, painting OOAK (One of a Kind) Painted Ponies and Model Horses (Peter Stone, Breyer and Artist Resins) - I started the Painted Ponies in early 2007 and the Model Horses in the middle of the same year. My work in both has sold both in Australia and to the Painted Ponies & Model Horse central country of the USA! My work hasn't being to Live Show's yet, although a few comissions I've done were done with that aspect in mind so hopefully I will have some results very soon!

Other than that - the main point in my life is of course, my fiancee and his two gorgeous son's, who I love as my own. Soon there will be a name change (on my behalf) and the beginning of the exspansion of our family herd :D - so look out for some more work to head out during this year, as I'll have nothing better to do than paint and have my soon-to-be husband sealer and prime everything for me when I'm "in-foal".
